ALISON DORVILLIER

Owner/Designer

Owner and principal designer. Over 20 years of architecture and high-end kitchen design experience. Alison holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University.

Inplace Studio.

Designing and installing distinctive kitchens for Southern California homeowners since 2000.

Alison Dorvillier leads a team of designers and craftsmen who bring each client’s dream kitchen to life. Trained as an architect, Alison’s keen eye for form and function gives each project the creative vision required to take it from concept to completion. Alison founded the company on the principles of design innovation, interior beauty, and precision installation. Inplace Studio lives by these values today.

Inplace Studio has won numerous awards and accolades for its distinctive designs, including the coveted Kitchen of the Year award in 2013. Inplace Studio is the exclusive Southern California provider of the finest kitchen cabinetry in the world, including SieMatic, Wood-Mode and Neff, among others. A sort of kitchen whisperer, Alison evaluates an existing space, conducts a discovery process during which she learns the family’s kitchen wishes, considers the placement of existing walls and other barriers, then creates its most beautiful and functional design. It seems walls do talk — to those who can hear!
