Design Philosophy
The Urban collection breaks convention. Where the SLX pursues purity, the Urban celebrates expression — asymmetric compositions, open and closed areas in dialogue, shelving systems that blur the boundary between kitchen and living space. The SG-6 curved elements bring sculptural form to functional design. This is a kitchen for those who see cooking as creative expression.
Rather than concealing function behind uniformity, the Urban invites you to curate. A wall of tall cabinets anchors one side while open metal shelving extends the kitchen into the room, holding cookbooks, ceramics, and the small objects that make a space personal. Materials are chosen not for sameness but for contrast — warm oak against matte lacquer, brushed metal beside natural stone. Every surface has a purpose, and every purpose is given visible form.
SieMatic developed the Urban line for a generation that no longer separates cooking from living. The island becomes a gathering point. The shelving becomes a room divider. The kitchen ceases to be a room and becomes a way of inhabiting space. Ergonomic principles from decades of German engineering remain at the foundation, but the visual language is looser, more individual, and more alive.
