Countertops
The kitchen countertop is an important and essential part of your kitchen. It’s what you look at, touch and use every day. It is what creates coherence and harmony between the kitchen’s many elements, appliances and the décor in your home. With a quality solid wooden worktop, you not only get a worktop with extremely long durability, but you also enrich your home with a beautiful natural material that adds warmth and tranquility to the surroundings, as well as being known and loved for improving the indoor climate and acoustics. The joinery worktops from inplace studio are made in the absolute finest quality of wood, following proud Danish traditions of great craftsmanship and with an eye for detail.
Selecting the Right Countertop
Choosing a worktop means balancing how a material looks, how it wears, and how it lives alongside your cabinetry. These are the considerations we walk clients through when specifying countertops as part of a kitchen or bathroom design.
Material. Each surface has its own character. Solid wood brings warmth and can be sanded and re-oiled over time. Natural stones such as marble and quartzite offer singular veining, while engineered quartz gives consistency and low maintenance, and sintered or porcelain surfaces resist heat and scratching. The right choice depends on how you cook, entertain, and care for your kitchen.
Finish and edge. The same stone reads very differently honed, polished, or leathered — and the edge profile, from a fine eased edge to a thick mitred waterfall, sets the tone of the whole room.
Maintenance. Some surfaces are effectively worry-free; others, like natural marble and solid wood, develop a patina and reward a little care. We make sure you understand how a material will age before you commit to it.
Coordination. A countertop is never chosen in isolation. Because we design, specify, and install your cabinetry as well, the worktop is considered alongside cabinet finishes, hardware, sink, and sightlines — so every element belongs to one composition.
